「藤の花のビーズランプ」
平面の絵柄で作られている
ステンドガラスのランプの藤を、
立体にしてみたい。
ガラスビーズを使えば叶うかもしれない、
材質がガラスで同じなので
色も近づけるかもしれないという思いで、
数年にわたって作り続けたものです。
Twitterに出してみたところ、
多くの方々にご覧いただき、
想像をはるかに上回る反響がありました。
ステンドグラスの藤のランプといえば
ティファニーランプですが、
パーツの総数が小さなランプでも1000弱、
大きなものは2000弱ともいわれる大作なのだそうです。
レプリカや似せて作られたランプも
調べた限り大変高価なものでした。
材料費と完成させるために
要する根気に対する費用のようです。
Heart Bouquetの藤もパーツ総数について
大きくは劣らぬ規模となりました
（ビーズ1500粒超、丸カンも1000個超）。
後の2つについても私としては
なかなかのものになりました。。。
藤の花はビーズをひと粒ひと粒、
丸カンに通して組み上げていきました。
せっかく作るのですから、
あしかがフラワーパークの大藤のように
立派な長さのある花房を思い浮かべて。。。
やがて目の前にガラスならではの、
光で表情を変える藤棚が現れてくれました。
下から見上げると滝のようです。
点灯するとまた印象が変わります。
明かりをつけていない時は昼間の藤、
明かりをつけた時はライトアップされた
夜の藤のようです。
丸カンを繋いで作った花房はしなやかで、
風にも揺れます。
ティファニーのランプは、
電球の形が見えないように
半透明のガラスを多用したらしいですが、
Heart Bouquetのランプは花房が
一筋一筋揺れるので
電球は自ずと隙間から見える形になります。
ランプの中は丸い電球がちょうどひとつだけなので、
それを月に見立てて、
藤棚の隙間から満月を拝むように
ご覧いただきたいなと思います。
"The Wisteria Lamp"
Three-dimensional version of
a wisteria stained glass lamp.
I have been working on this project for several years,
thinking that I might be able to make it
come true by using glass beads,
and since the material is glass and the color is the same,
I might be able to get close to the color.
When I put it out on Twitter,
many people saw it and the response was
far greater than I had imagined.
The Tiffany lamp that one of stained glass wisteria lamp,
but it is a large work,
with the total number of parts said to be
about 1,000 for a small lamp
and 2,000 for a large one.
Replicas and similar lamps were also very expensive,
as far as I could tell.
It seems to be the cost of materials and
the patience required to complete them.
Heart Bouquet's wisteria is no less large
in terms of the number of parts too
(over 1,500 beads and 1,000 jump rings) .
The cost and the patience were
also quite expensive for me.
The wisteria flower was assembled by
threading beads one by one through jump rings.
I tried to make it look as long and magnificent
as the big wisteria at Ashikaga Flower Park.
Before long, a wisteria trellis appeared in front of me,
changing its appearance with the light,
as only glass can do.
Looking up from below, it looks like a waterfall.
When the lights are turned on,
the impression changes again.
When not lit, it looks like a daytime wisteria,
and when lit, it looks like a lit-up nighttime wisteria.
The flower clusters, made by connecting jump rings,
are flexible and sway in the wind.
Tiffany lamps are said to have used
translucent glass so that the shape of the bulb is not visible,
but in the Heart Bouquet lamp,
the flower clusters sway line by line,
so the bulb is naturally visible through the gaps.
Since there is only one round light bulb inside the lamp,
would like you to look at it
as if you were admiring a full moon
through a gap in a wisteria trellis.
